Is It There?

"The bright lights are brilliant.
The bright lights are great.
The lights are stupendous.
The lights are..."

"Now wait!
The lights are those things.
It's true; I agree.
But something is missing,
Just look, and you'll see.

There're lights in the trees,
And as you look again,
There're skaters, and holly,
And gingerbread men.
There're toys, and there're bells;
There is Santa and sleigh,
Poinsettias, and candles,
But tell me which way
To look to find something,
Just one little thing,
To show us the reason
Lights glow and bells ring."

"Oh, look! There is something
Depicting the night
When Jesus was born
And the angels so bright
Sang songs to the shepherds
Of peace on the earth.
They sang loud hosannas
For our Savior's birth."

"I'm so glad we found it;
For we should recall
The reason for Christmas
And share it with all."
