Love

The light of love shines brighter than the stars that twinkle through
The night, just as the star of Bethlehem surpassed in hue
And brilliance all its heavenly companions at the time
When God bestowed to us the gift of Christ, His Son sublime.

The bands of death and chains of hell could not withstand the power
Of Jesus' love for all mankind when in that glorious hour
Of Easter morning he arose. Thus immortality
Will come to all who live on earth, free, unconditionally.

As god is so we should become. Perfection is our goal
Throughout this mortal life. And such refinement of the soul
Is wrought through faith, obedience, grace, and service. As we strive
To do our part and follow Him we reap eternal life.

And thus the love of God extends beyond all bounds we know
Of time or space or death or human weakness. If we sow
The seeds of goodness that the Savior sowed, then shall we reap
A glorious harvest; we become His followers, His sheep.
