The Eye of God

On the Baby in the stable on that first bright Christmas night,
On the young Child and His guardians as they left in hasty flight,
On the young Boy in the temple, on the Preacher spreading light
Was the eye of God the Father who holds all things in His sight.

As we travel on our journey o'er life's rocky hills and plains,
As we learn of joy and gladness and experience griefs and pains,
As we help those who are near us, as we try to do what's right
On us rests the eye of Father as He keeps us in His sight.

As our Father up in Heaven looks upon us here below
He sees all our needs and problems, and He blesses each one so
That we all may grow and progress while upon this earth we stay
And attain the skills and knowledge to become like Him someday.
